Today we want to introduce you to Irfaan Ali who recently joined us. Irfaan brings significant experience in Defence telecommunication and Systems Engineering. Irfaan brings a great energy to his interactions with stakeholders and breaks down communication barriers. Welcome to the team Irfaan!
What is your role at ADROITA?
I am a Senior Manager, bringing 20 years of Defence Telecommunications and Systems Engineering experience.
Why did you choose ADROITA?
I chose ADROITA to work in exciting and challenging engineering projects within the Defence Industry, including opportunities in Maritime, Land, Air, Space and Cyber Domains. The inclusive culture and smart people make ADROITA a great place to work.
What are you delivering to your client/s?
I have been engaged as a Lead Engineer to support the transitioning of critical communications capability into sustainment. I look forward to providing ongoing support with CASG to our Defence personnel.
How do you remain connected with broader ADROITA team?
I am located in Canberra and keep in touch with ADROITA through Teams for our daily and weekly huddles. I also take every opportunity for coffee whenever ADROITA are in Canberra, or when I visit Sydney.
What is your superpower?
I remember a conversation I had with one of my teachers in high school. He told me that nice guys always finished last, and that I did not have to be nice to everyone. I listened but realised that being nice did not cost anything. Along the way, I have learnt to be a good listener, friend and the ability to relate with most. I suppose that kindness is my super power which has brought me a long way.
What do you love doing when you aren’t at work?
Mostly, I love spending time with family. But I have picked up the guitar and I am teaching myself how to play mainly by watching Tommy Emmanuel and other artists on YouTube over the past two years. I find that I am developing a greater appreciation for jazz. Most recently I have learnt to play Eric Clapton’s version of “Autumn Leaves”, and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking out Loud”.
